NHCSS Teacher of the Year - 2007

The NHCSS Secondary School Social Studies Teacher of the Year for 2007 is William Ranauro.  Mr. Ranauro teaches Advanced Placement European History at Fall Mountain. Under his chairmanship, the social studies department offers Advanced Placement US History as well. The Fall Mountain region suffered devastating floods in October 2005. Mr. Ranauro worked with Save Our History and the Alstead Historical Society to turn this disaster into an opportunity for students.  Through his auspices, students were able to work on a local history of the floods as an Independent Study at Fall Mountain. This eventually became the basis for the student-produced Too Much Water, Too Much Rain published in 2006.

Mr. Ranauro was honored at the Excellence in Education Award ceremony on June 9, 2007 at the Center of NH in Manchester. For more information about the event go to the official website:  http://www.edies.org/
